Dear Apostolate of St. Philomena

Over the centuries, inspired by the teaching of St. Dominic and his followers, the Rosary became the most beloved and popular Catholic devotion.

At Fatima the Mother of Our Lord identified herself as "the Lady of the Rosary." She appeared holding a Rosary in her hand as if to say it is the surest means of winning her heart and obtaining her graces.

Many of us, I am sure, have heard the slogan, "the family that prays together stays together." It is quite clear in these confused and uncertain times that the family is being attacked from every direction. The family needs the weapon of prayer more than ever.

Blessed Pius IX is said to have made the comment: "Give me one million families praying the Rosary and the world is saved." St. Francis de Sales considered the praying of the Rosary to be the greatest method of praying.

In reflecting on the Rosary, Sister Lucy claims there is no problem, no matter how difficult, whether it concerns our own family or the families of the world, that cannot be solved by praying the Rosary. For that matter there is no personal problem, temporal or spiritual, that cannot be resolved through the prayer of the Most Holy Rosary.

The Rosary is a simple prayer. It is a prayer that, in all reality, we say together with the Mother of Christ. As we recite the Hail Mary we are inviting Mary to join her prayer to ours. This makes our prayer more effective since what Mary asks of her Son, she always receives. Jesus never says "No" to whatever His Mother asks of Him.

In the Apparitions at Fatima, Our Lady made a special plea that we pray the Rosary. She said it is a powerful weapon against evil. It will also bring peace into our own personal lives and that of the human family.

An alleged message from our Lady of Peace at Medjugorje claims that if we desire peace in our hearts, in our families, in our country, we need to pray the Rosary faithfully from the heart every evening. It is also alleged that she urges us not to let even one day pass without praying the Rosary, no matter how difficult it might be to work it into our daily schedules.

Invite St. Philomena to pray the Rosary with you. She never ceased entrusting herself to Jesus and Mary while she was chained in prison. After thirty days of confinement, the Queen of Heaven appeared to her beloved daughter St. Philomena, and promised her that within three days she would be freed from the horrible pain the Emperor made her endure. Three days later, on the 10th of August, St. Philomena's soul rose triumphant and glorious into heaven as promised by the Queen of Heaven.

As we know from Sacred Scripture, Mary is not only Queen of Heaven, She is also our Mother.

A mother, as St. Philomena assures us, is true to her promises.

The call resounds from Heaven -- Pray, Pray, Pray the Rosary! If you devoutly pray the Rosary every day until death - for the purpose of knowing the truth and obtaining contrition and pardon for your sins - peace will come into your life and the life of the human family.

Through the Intercession of St. Philomena, God Bless you,

Support the Sanctuary of Saint Philomena

The Sanctuary of Saint Philomena is not a parish Church. We do not have parishioners who support this place of worship on a weekly basis. We are completely dependent on the love and generosity of you, the world-wide devotees, to keep the doors of the earthly home of Saint Philomena open.

We pray at the Sanctuary for the devotees of Saint Philomena to recognize and provide the means to pay our monthly utilities of gas and electricity. We also pray for the means to install a lift at the Sanctuary to enable physically challenged pilgrims to experience the entire home of their beloved Saint.

In order to ensure the Sanctuary is able to keep our doors open to you and to continue to offer God continual praise and to be the focal point through which our prayers are received by Saint Philomena and interceded for before God at the Sanctuary, you may donate in the following ways:
