Dear devotees of our Saint,

I have chosen this day particularly to congratulate my brother in Christ Fr Jason Kulczynski, National director of the USA for the Universal Archconfraternity of Saint Philomena on his Silver Jubilee of Ordination which he celebrated May 20th. I invite you to join with me in congratulating him and I remind you that:

Now, on May 21st, 2012, 102 years after Saint Pope Pius X wrote regarding Saint Philomena. He wrote to definitively affirm the faith of Saint Philomena and to give the final word on May 21, 1912, (Saint) Pope Pius X raised the Venerable Archconfraternity of Saint Philomena into the Universal Archconfraternity with the Apostolic Brief, "Pias Fidelium Societates," in which he states very clearly: "We decree with the present words that it shall remain always stable, valid and effective, that it receive and obtain its effects fully and completely, in this way it must be regularly judged and defined, and if it proceeds in any other way, it will be null and without value, whatever the authority might be."

This strong statement defends and protects the work of the Archconfraternity and is particularly significant to the good work of Fr. Jason. We have Lisa Bowen (Regional Director for Pennsylvania and Delaware) to thank for bringing Fr. Jason into the Archconfraternity. He is most certainly a wonderful donation from God, a great zealot of our Saint Philomena and a huge asset to my work. Fr. Jason, I send you my blessing and my sincere thanks for all you are doing for our Saint, our precious star of heaven. I pray you have at least another 25 years of priestly activity.

Praying for you at the altar of the sacred body of Saint Philomena

Msgr. Giovanni Braschi
Rector of the Sanctuary of Saint Philomena
Custodian of her Sacred Body

Dear Family of Saint Philomena,

Please join with me in sharing the Silver Jubilee of Ordination of Father Jason Kulczynski. I happily remember when Lisa Bowen called to say knew a priest in St. Philomena’s church in Lansdowne who was prepared to support devotion to Saint Philomena. This was wonderful news and an answer to a prayer. Fr. Jason was Acting Administrator for the church at the time. Not only did he open the door of the church for the visit of Msgr. Braschi, he also opened the door of the church to the Archconfraternity. His time as Acting Administrator was short and he moved onto assisting at the Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church where he now has much more time and energy to put into his role of National Director of the USA.

During the years Father lived in the presbytery of St. Philomena’s Church he investigated the many “three knocks” of our Saint but had no idea this was her signature. It wasn’t until Fr. Jason and Lisa Bowen first spoke that they talked about this phenomenon that he understood she had been calling him for many years. I did have some concerns and reservations about this priest before I met him. I wondered if he was up to the task he had been thrust into. I was relieved to meet him and realize that he “definitely was not an idiot.” We now joke about these words that slipped out of my mouth when we met and he has never let me forget it!

Fr. Jason has done so much more than we could have asked for. He is the voice of Saint Philomena in the USA and speaks for the Sanctuary in Mugnano del Cardinale. He is the head of the Archconfraternity in the USA. His work exemplary and he leads by example. Never before has the Archconfraternity in the USA been so well organized.

Fr. Jason, I thank you and I am sure all of the USA devotees are with me in thanking you for all the hard work you put in for our little saint. You have inspired all of us who work for her to work harder in her name.

The best gift we can give Fr. Jason is to pray for him. Please join me in doing this.

I wanted to take just a few moments to express my excitement in celebrating one of the many Feasts of Saint Philomena,
the Finding of the Holy Relics,
May 25th.

This upcoming feast commemorates the beginning of some of the most powerful miracles seen around the world for any one saint. She has cured and has had the backing of some of the most powerful Saints & Popes in history.

It is also with great joy we announce the 25th Silver Jubilee of the Ordination to the Priesthood of Father Jason Kulczynski.

As most of you know, Father Jason is the National Director for the Archconfraternity in the United States. He has been in this position for almost 4 years now.

I first met him while planning an event for the visiting Monsignor Givoanni Braschi, Rector of the Sanctuary of Saint Philomena located in Mugnano del Cardinale, Italy, in 2011. Interestingly enough, I had just become the Center Rep for the Phila/DE area. In a way we have made this journey together.

Over the last four years, I have worked closely with Father Jason and have had the opportunity to come to know him a little better. I have found him to be a person of integrity and sincerity, one who has compassion for the sick and the infirmed and one who takes in stride all that is thrown his way. And in working with Saint Philomena, a teenager, you can count on some curve balls being thrown your way.

He has a great attention for detail and a great sense of humor. As a result, it has lent for a lot of fun times working with him.

Father Jason is a Priest who loves his faith and his vocation. He began his work as a Monk at the Monastery & National Shrine to Our Lady of Czestochowa in Doylestown, PA,. However after some discernment he left the Monastery and is currently located at the Maternity Blessed Virgin Parish in Northeast Philadelphia.

His love of Christ can be seen in his reverent celebration of the Holy Mass. He has a particular love of the Latin Mass and is one of the few Priests in the Philadelphia Diocese, and around the country, who knows how to celebrate this Liturgy.

One can surely see this genuine interest in bringing this knowledge and love of God to others through his involvement in Catholic Education, Mass, Retreats, the Archconfraternity and his Radio Show, “Aim High”. He is not one who just talks about his faith, but puts it into action every day.

He always makes himself available, no matter how busy he may be. I can truly say I am very privileged to know him.

Father Jason is very devoted to Saint Philomena and has done much over the last four years to promote and build up the Archconfraternity here in the United States.

I am sure I can speak for all devotees here in the USA by saying we wish him
many more blessed years in the Priesthood and we thank him for all of his tireless dedication to the cause of Saint Philomena.

For those who have had the opportunity to speak with him or hear his radio show, “Aim High” on Radio Maria and listen to the archives on www.radiomaria.us. His latest show aired on Gaudalupe radio this week. We would also like to thank Richard Reyna, General Manager of the Guadalupe Network, South Central Texas for his interest in interviewing Fr. Jason.  I will end this dedication as he ends all of his phone conversations,

“God Bless you”.

Support the Sanctuary of Saint Philomena

The Sanctuary of Saint Philomena is not a parish Church. We do not have parishioners who support this place of worship on a weekly basis. We are completely dependent on the love and generosity of you, the world-wide devotees, to keep the doors of the earthly home of Saint Philomena open.

We pray at the Sanctuary for the devotees of Saint Philomena to recognize and provide the means to pay our monthly utilities of gas and electricity. We also pray for the means to install a lift at the Sanctuary to enable physically challenged pilgrims to experience the entire home of their beloved Saint.

In order to ensure the Sanctuary is able to keep our doors open to you and to continue to offer God continual praise and to be the focal point through which our prayers are received by Saint Philomena and interceded for before God at the Sanctuary, you may donate in the following ways:

  1. Direct to the Sanctuary:
    1. By personal check payable to the "Sanctuary of Saint Philomena." For security reasons, please send your donation through registered or express mail to the Sanctuary's address at the bottom of this newsletter.
